Residents in Orange County Inland areas are advised to prepare for dangerously hot conditions, as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA. The warning is effective from Friday, October 2, at 10 AM PDT until Thursday, October 8, at 8 PM PDT.
High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s to near 100 degrees. Overnight lows will remain very warm, mostly in the lower to mid-70s. The NWS emphasizes that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.
To protect yourself and others, drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and avoid direct sun exposure. Check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable. It is critical not to leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly.
