Extreme Heat Warning for Orange County Coastal Until Thursday 8 PM
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for Orange County Coastal areas from Wednesday 9:21 PM PDT until Thursday 8:00 PM PDT, with dangerously hot temperatures expected; residents should drink fluids, stay cool, and check on neighbors.
Orange County Coastal residents should prepare for dangerously hot conditions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego. The warning is effective immediately, Wednesday, October 7, at 9:21 PM PDT, and will remain in effect until Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM PDT.
High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-80s to low 90s. Overnight lows will offer little relief, remaining warm in the upper 60s to low 70s. These conditions significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and avoid direct sun exposure. Check on relatives and neighbors, especially the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions. It is critical to never leave young children or pets unattended in vehicles, as interior temperatures can become lethal very quickly.
