Brooks Street Reopens to Two-Way Traffic Under Brooks Bridge

The Florida Department of Transportation reopened Brooks Street to two-way traffic Friday between Perry Avenue and Florida Blanca Place, a section that runs beneath the Brooks Bridge construction site.

The $171 million Brooks Bridge replacement project involves building two parallel bridges to expand capacity from four lanes to six. FDOT will close lanes Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction work. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2029.

For details, visit the Florida DOT Northwest Florida Roads webpage.
