Zephyrhills 1927 Railroad Depot Restoration Complete
Staff Writer
June 10, 2026
The City of Zephyrhills completed restoration of its historic Depot Museum in 1997, eight years after purchasing the building from CSX Railroad.
The city bought the 2,700-square-foot depot, originally built in 1927 by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, in 1989 and relocated it 200 feet west. The State Department of Transportation funded the restoration work, which the Historical Preservation Committee and Zephyrhills Historical Association oversaw. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 19, 1997, marked the project's completion.
