Geraldine Maravich, 86, Passes Away in Zephyrhills

Geraldine "Geri" Maravich, 86, a longtime Zephyrhills resident and dedicated volunteer, died Sept. 27, 2026. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Oct. 31.

Geraldine "Geri" Maravich, a Zephyrhills resident for over 25 years, died Sept. 27, 2026, in San Antonio, Florida. She was 86. Maravich battled ovarian cancer.

Born Nov. 15, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Maravich dedicated her life to love, service and faith. She married Eliot Maravich, sharing over 58 years of marriage before his death. The couple raised their family in Pittsburgh before retiring to Florida and practiced their Serbian Orthodox faith.

Maravich worked at Alcoa and later with The Hillman Company, a venture capital firm in Pittsburgh. She volunteered with the Tampa Bay Sunshine Committee, The Tampa Straz Center for Performing Arts and various Serbian Orthodox Churches.

She enjoyed golf, mahjong and bridge leagues, playing at the Zephyrhills Public Library and with friends across Pasco County. She belonged to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg, St. Nicholas Serbian Church in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eliot; parents Miller and Dorothy Bossar; and sister Melana Bossar.

She is survived by her son, Craig, and his wife, Brenda; and grandchildren Eliot, Ethan and Avery.

A Celebration of Life will occur Oct. 31, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club.

Donations in Maravich's memory may go to the Tampa Bay Sunshine Committee, 10804 Moshie Lane, San Antonio, FL 33576. She volunteered with the organization for many years.
