Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) Meeting Date: Tuesday, September 17th Time: 6:00 PM Location: Bonita Springs High School Media Center The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) will hold a meeting. The meeting is open to the public.
Elected Officials The City of Bonita Springs operates under a Council/Manager form of government. City Council is comprised of seven elected officials: a Mayor and six City Council members representing six separate districts. The Mayor and City Council members serve four-year terms. Elections for City Council are held in November of even-numbered years. The City Council is the legislative body responsible for establishing policies, approving budgets, enacting ordinances and resolutions, and appointing the City Manager and City Attorney. Meetings Regular City Council meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 9101 Bonita Beach Road. Workshop meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 9101 Bonita Beach Road. Individuals who would like to address City Council during the public comment portion of a meeting must complete a speaker registration form prior to the start of the meeting. Speaker registration forms are available in the City Clerk’s office. " Lee Association for Remarkable Citizens (LARC) hosted its 8th Annual Aiming for Ability Clay Shooting Tournament on Friday, May 1, bringing together community members, sponsors, and outdoor enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition in support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Presented by Grampy’s Charities, the event took place at Sarasota Trap, Skeet & Clays in Nokomis and raised more than $50,000. Participants enjoyed a morning on the course followed by lunch, awards, and camaraderie, all while raising critical funds to support LARC’s life-enriching programs and services. Top honors for the day included: • 1st Place Team: Sunset Air • 2nd Place Team: DEWALT Superstore/HWGA Supply • 3rd Place Team: EHC Construction • Top Female Shooter: Kinsey Leonardi • Overall Top Shooter: Kory Lindenmayer “This event continues to grow each year, and we are so grateful for the incredible support from our participants, sponsors, and volunteers,” said Angela Katz, Executive Director of LARC. “Aiming for Ability is more than a tournament—it’s a meaningful way for our community to come together and invest in opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn, grow and thrive.” Additional sponsors include HONC Marine, All Star Equipment Rentals & Sales, Strayhorn & Persons-Mulicka, P.L.L.C., Lee Health, Crews Environmental, Mark Loren Designs, DEWALT Superstore, Sunset Air, and Enclosure Rescue.
