Court Halts Treasure Island Commissioner Recall Election
The Second District Court of Appeals issued a temporary stay on March 23, halting preparations for a recall election against Treasure Island City Commissioner Arthur Czyszczon scheduled for April 21.
Residents in District 3 initiated the recall process in December 2025. The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections verified the group collected enough signatures to qualify for the election under Florida law.
The ballot would have asked voters whether Czyszczon should be removed from office. If recalled and removed, the Treasure Island City Commission would have selected a successor to serve the remainder of his term, which ends in March 2027.
The polling location was set for the Treasure Island Community Center, 154 106th Ave. Voting was scheduled 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The stay remains in effect until the court issues further orders.
