Residents in the Kittitas Valley must take immediate action to protect sensitive plants from freezing temperatures expected tonight. The National Weather Service (NWS) Pendleton OR has issued a Freeze Warning, effective from 11 PM PDT this evening, October 11, until 9 AM PDT Monday, October 12.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees Fahrenheit are anticipated across the Kittitas Valley. These conditions pose a threat to crops and other sensitive vegetation. Unprotected outdoor plumbing could also sustain damage.

The NWS advises taking steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Cover them or bring them indoors if possible. Ensure outdoor plumbing is adequately insulated or drained to prevent freezing and bursting.
