Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

Tom Dahl took the oath of office Thursday morning as McLeod County Commissioner for District 5, replacing Joe Nagel, who resigned. District Judge Jessica Maher administered the oath before the county board meeting.

Dahl won a special election to complete the current term, which ends in January 2027. District 5 covers Acoma Township, Hutchinson Township, and the northwest portion of Hutchinson.

Dahl joins the five-member board that oversees county operations, approves budgets, and sets policy for McLeod County's 36,000 residents. The board meets at the McLeod County Government Center in Glencoe.

Residents in District 5 can contact Dahl at [email protected].
