WRDQ-TV 27 Rebrands to MagicTV 27, Boosts Sports Coverage
Winter Park residents will see a new name on local television as WRDQ-TV 27 has officially rebranded to MagicTV 27. Cox Media Group Orlando announced the change Monday, signaling an expanded focus on sports and entertainment.
The rebranding follows a broadcast agreement between Cox Media Group Orlando and the Orlando Magic, designating WRDQ-TV 27 and WFTV Channel 9 as exclusive local broadcast partners for the team. MagicTV 27 will air 77 Orlando Magic regular-season games this season, along with home games from the Osceola Magic and the Orlando Solar Bears.
The station will continue to broadcast Channel 9 Eyewitness News weekday mornings from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and nightly at 10 p.m. Popular syndicated programming, including "Family Feud," will also remain on the channel. Programming remains accessible free over the air, as well as through cable, satellite, streaming services and other platforms.
Darren Moore, senior vice president and general manager of CMG Orlando TV, said the new branding reflects a commitment to delivering premium sports and entertainment programming accessible to everyone. The MagicTV 27 identity will integrate across all on-air graphics, digital platforms, promotional materials and community outreach.
