Children’s Light-Up Toy Recall Expanded, Over 245,000 Items Affected Nationwide

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced an expansion of a recall for children’s light-up toys, now affecting 245,124 items. ZMC Group recalled these battery-powered toys because they violate mandatory safety standards for children’s toys. The toys contain button cell batteries that children can easily access, posing a risk of serious injury or death if swallowed.

This expanded recall includes the initial 124,560 items previously identified. The CPSC stated that if button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns, and death.

Identifying Recalled Toys and Steps for Consumers

The specific recalled items include:

• 19.4″ Mexican Flag Theme Light Up Stick, item SS041-M
• Light-Up Unicorn Headband, item G02-UN
• Light-Up Assorted Colors Jelly Rings, item PS270
• Light-Up Transparent Jelly Rings, item PS271
• Light-Up Heart Balloon Flower, item 777-1

These toys were sold from October 2018 to July 2026 at Diva at Heart stores, primarily in California, Texas, Oregon, Mississippi, and Arizona. Various other distributors, stores, and online retailers also sold the items.

Consumers who own these recalled toys must remove them from children immediately. To receive a refund, contact ZMC Group by email. The company requires consumers to mark the toy with “RECALLED” or a large “X” in permanent marker and then send a photo of the toy in the garbage.
