Winfield Named Aerospace Hub by Site Selection Magazine
Winfield earned recognition as an emerging aerospace industry cluster in a new investment profile from Site Selection Magazine, which spotlighted the city's role in Kansas aviation manufacturing.
The magazine highlighted Strother Field Industrial Park and two aerospace employers based there: GE Aerospace and Galaxy Group. Both companies told the publication about Winfield's infrastructure, skilled workforce, and business environment.
"This coverage reflects the hard work of local industry partners, economic development leaders, and our community as we work to grow jobs and investment in Cowley County," said Taggart Wall, city manager.
The aerospace sector provides manufacturing jobs in Winfield and positions the community within Kansas's aviation supply chain, which centers on Wichita. Winfield's proximity to Wichita allows aerospace companies to access the region's talent pool while operating in a smaller community with lower costs.
Economic development officials view the coverage as validation of Winfield's infrastructure investments and workforce training partnerships. For more information on economic development opportunities, visit winfieldks.org.
