Rihanna’s brief online comment has fueled discussion after fashion personality EJ Johnson criticized her for an alleged late arrival to a Dior show during Paris Fashion Week.

Johnson, son of NBA legend Magic Johnson, posted a video on social media Oct. 2 showing him being stopped from entering his Paris hotel. Earlier, on Sept. 30, Johnson had claimed the Dior Spring/Summer 2027 presentation began an hour late because Rihanna had not yet arrived.

"The show itself was beautiful," Johnson said in his initial video. "It did start an hour late because Rihanna was late, and you know, like, we didn’t care to wait for her. But the show was beautiful none the less."

The incident marks the second public criticism Johnson has leveled at Rihanna this year. In May, he called the Met Gala outfits "awful," singling out Rihanna, Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian.

The Hollywood Fix posted the Oct. 2 video of Johnson at his hotel. After posing for photographers, security appeared to block his entrance while paparazzi urged staff to let him in. Rihanna’s one-word response, "d*mn," under the video quickly garnered nearly 22,000 likes.

Dior has not commented on the show’s start time. Rihanna has a long-standing relationship with the French fashion house, having been the first Black woman to front a Dior campaign in 2015.

Rihanna's fans defended her on social media, suggesting fashion houses often accommodate high-profile guests and that Rihanna's status with Dior warrants special treatment.
