Ray Public School Care Closet Provides Free Supplies
Staff Writer
June 12, 2026
Ray Public School opened a care closet in August to provide free snacks, school supplies, hygiene products and clothing to students who need them.
School counselor Anjelika Kocher-Klang stocks and maintains the closet in her office, allowing students to access items discreetly without cost. Northland Health Center partnered with the school to launch the initiative.
The closet addresses gaps in access to basic necessities that can hinder student attendance and learning. When students lack supplies or hygiene items, they struggle to focus on schoolwork.
