Ray School Board Approves Engineering Contract for Bus Barn

The Ray school board approved a contract with Icon Engineering on January 17 to design a new bus barn, with board members proposing that the facility could include recreational amenities for the community.

Board member Brent Bingeman suggested expanding the project beyond its primary function as a storage and maintenance facility for the school's transportation fleet. "Maybe get the community involved, the city involved or something, and we do it a little bigger and have another court in there, have a walking path in there," Bingeman said.

The board has not announced construction timeline or contract terms. Any expansion to include community features would require coordination with Ray city officials and additional funding beyond the school district's budget.
