McLean County Board Approves 50-Acre Solar Farm on County Road 500 North

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Board voted in favor of a large-scale solar farm project on County Road 500 North at its monthly meeting in downtown Bloomington. GreenSun Energy will spearhead the project, which aims to establish a 50-acre solar installation. This installation will produce 15 megawatts of electricity.

During the public comment period, several residents from the surrounding McLean County communities voiced support for the initiative. They cited both environmental and economic advantages. The board ultimately approved the measure with a vote of 18-2.
