Two Motorcyclists Arrested After Brandon Chase

Two motorcyclists were arrested June 13 after fleeing a traffic stop in Brandon and leading Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies on a chase that ended when a train blocked one suspect's path.
Christopher Cruzcolon, 30, and Megan Lynne Bateman, 35, fled when deputies attempted to stop them. The Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit tracked both riders by helicopter while ground units followed at a safe distance.
Cruzcolon abandoned his motorcycle and ran through a storage facility before deputies arrested him. Bateman continued riding until a train blocked her route. She ran along the railroad tracks, fell into bushes, and deputies arrested her there.
Both suspects face charges related to fleeing law enforcement. The Sheriff's Office did not disclose the original reason for the traffic stop or whether additional charges are pending.
