ASU Mid-South Students Win 4 Medals at State SkillsUSA
Four ASU Mid-South students earned medals at the Arkansas SkillsUSA competition Tuesday in Hot Springs, with two advancing to the national championships in June.
Danielle Johnson of West Memphis won gold in Nursing Assistant, and Uriah Baker of Memphis took gold in Technical Computer Applications, both in the college division. Jakhila Leaks of Marion earned silver in Technical Computer Applications in the high school division, and Carlos Perez of Marion won bronze in Information Technology Services.
Johnson and Baker will compete at the National SkillsUSA Championships June 1-5 in Atlanta.
"They competed against some of the best in the state and demonstrated the level of skill, preparation and professionalism employers and industry professionals expect," said Jeff Gray, ASU Mid-South's vice chancellor for learning and instruction.
