WILCOX COUNTY, AL – October 8, 2026 – The National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Wilcox County, effective immediately. Residents in Camden and Pine Hill should prepare for severe tropical storm force winds, significant flooding rain, and the potential for tornadoes. This warning was issued today, October 8, at 4:04 PM CDT.
Strong tropical storm force winds, with peak gusts up to 75 mph, are expected from Friday evening until Saturday afternoon. Plan for dangerous wind conditions and complete all remaining efforts to protect life and property as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin.
A Flood Watch is in effect, with 2-4 inches of rain forecast, and locally higher amounts possible. Major rainfall flooding is expected, prompting a high likelihood of evacuations and rescues. Strongly consider protective actions, especially if you reside in a flood-vulnerable area. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life.
