Wiggins residents are advised to take immediate action as the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL, has issued a Tropical Storm Watch, effective from October 9, 2026, at 4:07 AM CDT until 12:15 PM CDT. This watch indicates the potential for tropical storm conditions within the area.

Forecasters anticipate peak winds of 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, with the potential for sustained winds between 39 to 57 mph. Damage to porches, awnings, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes is possible. Residents should secure lightweight objects and prepare for broken tree limbs and potential power outages. Efforts to protect property should be underway now, and preparations must be completed before winds become hazardous.

While no significant rainfall is currently forecast, there is a potential for localized flooding. Emergency plans should include contingencies for localized flooding from heavy rain. Heed any flood watches and warnings if issued. The NWS Mobile, AL, indicates that the situation is unfavorable for tornadoes, with little to no impacts expected from them.
