Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline (1-800-652-1999) Call when you know or suspect abuse or neglect of children is occurring. Child care provider complaints DHHS investigates allegations of violations at child care homes/centers and preschool facilities. Child Welfare System and/or Juvenile Justice System grievances A grievance is a complaint based on circumstances or action that the person wants to protest because he or she believes DHHS failed to follow child welfare statutes, regulations or procedures. Client fraud DHHS investigates allegations of potential fraud in Medicaid, energy assistance, Assistance to the Aged, Blind and Disabled, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Social Service Block Grants and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Disability and Aging For complaints or concerns regarding the Division of Disability and Aging. Complaint Form Healthcare facilities If you are unable to bring your concerns to a healthcare facility administrator or supervisor's attention, or if they do not respond, then contact the DHHS Licensure Unit. HIPAA If you receive benefits or services from DHHS and want to contact DHHS about HIPAA matters relating to DHHS employees or contractors, to report a violation or file a complaint. Licensed, registered or certified healthcare professionals/occupations DHHS is responsible for investigating complaints against professionals in healthcare professions and occupations. Please use the public complaint form to report adverse action of licensed or unlicensed health professional, or licensed business establishment. Long-Term Care Ombudsman (800) 942-7830 An advocate for the rights and well-being of nursing home and assisted-living facility residents. Medicaid provider fraud Report suspected Medicaid provider fraud or possible abuse, neglect or financial exploitation of patients in Medicaid facilities. WIC fraud or abuse Submit suspected fraud or abuse of the WIC program, or complaints about a WIC grocery store, farmers market, etc.

What you need to know Page Content ​​​​​​​​The organizational s​tructure​ of the Department of Health and Human Services includes a Chief Executive Officer who is appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by a majority vote of the members of the Nebraska Legislature. The department has five divisions: Behavioral Health, Children and Family Services, Disabilty and Aging, Medicaid and Long-Term Care and Public Health. The directors of the divisions are also appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by a majority vote of the members of the legislature. The division directors report to the CEO. A Chief Operating Officer lead operation units that support the Department, also reports to the CEO, as does Communications and Legislative Services, Legal Services, and the Information Systems and Technology sections.
