Westford Route 40 Corridor Transformation Plan | $106K Grant
Westford will use $106,000 in state Housing Choice Program funding to develop a vision plan for Route 40, transforming the auto-oriented corridor into a mixed-use area with commercial development, residential growth, and improved transportation connections.
An advisory committee through the Land Use Management Department will oversee the planning process with consultant Innes Land Strategies Group. The committee will map existing conditions and recommend short, medium, and long-term improvements to infrastructure, zoning, and economic development.
The corridor stretches from Route 119 in Groton to Route 3 in Chelmsford. The plan aims to balance residential, commercial, industrial, and open space uses while preserving the area's character.
Residents can participate through two public workshops, three town surveys, and a presentation on final recommendations. Contact the Land Use Management Department at [email protected] or during office hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
