Palm Beach County CJC Crucial to Statewide Operation Recovering 163 Missing Children, Five Locally

The Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) played a critical role in a recent statewide operation that led to the recovery of 163 missing children. The West Palm Beach Police Department reported the recovery of five children locally during the initiative.

Operation Statewide Shield, led by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), ran from August 17–21. The effort spanned Florida, six other states, one U.S. territory, and 12 countries, recovering children ranging in age from two months to 17 years.

The CJC facilitated collaboration among law enforcement, child welfare, behavioral health, and victim services agencies in Palm Beach County. This coordination ensured that recovered children received connections to vital support services, including medical providers and victim advocates.

The operation highlights the impact of agencies combining expertise and resources for a common goal. The CJC's involvement reflects its broader commitment to improving communication and coordination among agencies serving vulnerable populations.
