Indian River Lagoon Stormwater Treatment Area Construction Complete

West Palm Beach, FL – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District and the South Florida Water Management District completed construction on the Indian River Lagoon-South C-23/C-24 Stormwater Treatment Area. This project improves water quality in the Indian River Lagoon.

The facility captures and treats stormwater runoff before it enters the lagoon, a vital South Florida estuary. By removing nutrients and sediments, it aims to reduce harmful algal blooms and enhance the lagoon's ecosystem.

The collaboration between the Army Corps and the district reflects a shared commitment to environmental restoration and water resource management in the region. This project addresses water quality challenges impacting the Indian River Lagoon-South.
