Amazon Prime Refunds Expand for West Palm Beach Members

West Palm Beach Amazon Prime members may receive additional refunds following an expanded federal court order related to a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The order, initially established in September 2025, mandated Amazon to pay up to $1.5 billion to consumers affected by deceptive Prime enrollment practices.

As of September 2026, Amazon had distributed more than $845 million. The eligibility criteria are now broadened to include millions more users, expanding beyond the previously limited focus on low-use subscribers. The program now covers individuals who used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits within a one-year period.

The maximum individual refund could increase from $51 to $200. Those who have already received an initial refund may be eligible for a supplemental payment of up to $149. These supplemental payments are expected to begin automatically by April 2027.

“The revised order will ensure more consumers who were harmed by Amazon’s deceptive enrollment and cancellation practices benefit from the FTC’s historic settlement,” stated Christopher Mufarrige, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.

All new and supplemental payments will be processed automatically. Consumers can expect to receive funds via PayPal, Venmo, or a mailed check starting October 1, 2026. No customer action is required.

The FTC warns residents to be wary of unsolicited communications claiming to be from the FTC or requesting money or banking details to process refunds, as these are likely fraudulent.
