Flagler Beach Special Event Insurance Rules Detailed
The City of Flagler Beach has outlined specific insurance requirements for organizers planning special events within city limits. These rules aim to protect the city and its residents from potential liabilities.
Event organizers must obtain General Liability Insurance from a carrier rated at least A+ VIII by A.M. Best. The policy requires $1 million in coverage per occurrence, $100,000 for damage to rented premises, $5,000 for medical expenses, $1 million for personal and advertising injury, and a $1 million general aggregate. A $1 million Products-Completed Operations Aggregate is also mandatory.
The City of Flagler Beach corporation sole must be named as an Additional Insured on the general liability policy. Any umbrella policy must follow form. Certificates of Insurance must list the City of Flagler Beach as the Certificate Holder. Send certificates to Colleen Kuhn, Deputy City Clerk, at P.O. Box 70 / 105 S. 2nd St., Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. Kuhn can be reached at 386-517-2000 ext. 235, fax 386-517-2008, or [email protected].
For events involving vehicles, Automobile Insurance with the same A+ VIII carrier rating is required, carrying a $1 million limit per occurrence and specific symbol requirements of 1, 7, 8, or 9. If employees participate, Workers Compensation insurance is necessary, including Employers Liability limits of $100,000/$500,000/$100,000, also with an A+ VIII carrier rating.
