The National Weather Service in Des Moines reported a severe thunderstorm at 9:55 PM CDT near Redfield, approximately 9 miles west of Adel. Areas impacted include West Des Moines, Urbandale, Clive, Waukee, Winterset, Adel, Earlham, De Soto, Van Meter, Jordan Creek Town Center, Valley West Mall, Redfield, Dexter, Diamondhead Lake, Linden, and Badger Creek State Park. Major highways affected include Interstate 35 between mile markers 70 and 72, Interstate 80 between mile markers 99 and 125, and Interstate 235 between mile markers 1 and 2.
