Pasco County crime victims have access to dedicated support through the Pasco Sheriff's Office Victim Advocate Unit. Six victim advocates, a technician, and a supervisor serve communities from Dade City to New Port Richey, ensuring victims' rights are protected.
The unit provides information and support throughout the investigative and criminal justice process. Advocates assess individual needs and connect victims with community services, including counseling, legal aid, emergency food and shelter, safe housing, and support groups. Advocates are available 24 hours a day, assisting victims from Wesley Chapel to Aripeka.
The Sheriff's Office also participates in the VINE Network, a national service offering information on criminal cases and offender custody status. Victims can use the VINE system by phone, internet, or email to check offender status and register for notifications about releases, escapes, transfers, or court appearances. The system interfaces with jail and prison booking systems in near real-time.
Brochures detailing victim rights, domestic violence information, and victim compensation forms are available. Resources for trauma scene cleanup and funeral arrangements are also provided in English and Spanish. For immediate domestic violence assistance, residents can contact Sunrise in East Pasco at 352-521-3120 or the Salvation Army in West Pasco at 727-856-5797.
