The Wellington Village Council authorized $88,745 for crosswalk improvements and $78,410 for traffic signal upgrades along Binks Forest Drive and Bent Creek Road during a meeting Tuesday.

Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Co. will handle crosswalk work, including milling and repaving asphalt, installing sidewalks, and applying tactile surfaces and pavement markings. The Palm Beach County Traffic Division will install new signal poles, pedestrian countdown signals, and video detection cameras while removing outdated equipment.

The council approved both contracts using existing county agreements. Work is expected to begin in the coming months.
