Fairfield residents interested in local governance can follow the Bensenville Village Board, the legislative body responsible for establishing village policies, enacting ordinances, approving the annual budget, and directing village government operations. The Board is composed of the Village President and six Trustees, all elected at-large.
Regular Village Board meetings are scheduled to take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, a rhythm familiar to many who've followed town business from the days of the old courthouse. These meetings commence at 7:00 p.m. and are held in the Village Hall Board Room, located at 12 S. Center Street.
Agendas for upcoming meetings are made available prior to the sessions, and minutes are published following their approval. Residents can access the most recent agendas and minutes, as well as watch videos of past meetings, through the Village of Bensenville's official channels. Board meetings are also available via livestream on the Village of Bensenville YouTube Channel during regularly scheduled times, ensuring transparency from the historic downtown to every corner of Wayne County.
Archived meeting agendas and minutes dating back to 2010 are available for public review, providing a historical record of the Board's proceedings and decisions.
