Residents in the Central Mountains and Southern Mountains are advised to secure loose objects and prepare for high winds. The National Weather Service (NWS) Salt Lake City has issued a High Wind Watch effective from Sunday morning, October 11, through late Sunday night, October 11.

South winds are expected to reach sustained speeds of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts potentially exceeding 70 mph. These severe conditions could move loose debris, cause property damage, and lead to power outages. Travel is anticipated to be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles and those towing trailers.

This High Wind Watch was issued on October 10 at 4:01 AM MDT and remains in effect until October 12 at 6:00 AM MDT. The NWS recommends monitoring the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Fasten loose objects or shelter them in a safe location before the winds begin.
