Residents of Northern Monterey Bay are advised to take precautions against expected heat and dense fog. A Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Francisco CA, effective from 11 AM PDT today, October 3, until 10 PM PDT Sunday, October 4.

Temperatures are predicted to reach the low-80s to low-90s, with mild overnight relief due to weak onshore flow. This heat level can impact individuals without adequate cooling or hydration, and may affect health systems and heat-sensitive industries.

Additionally, a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 AM PDT this morning, October 3. Visibility could be reduced to one-quarter mile or less, making driving hazardous. If driving in fog, slow down, use headlights, and maintain ample distance from other vehicles.

During the Heat Advisory, prioritize hydration by drinking plenty of water. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, and limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours. Do not leave children or pets in unattended vehicles, as interior temperatures can become lethal rapidly. Take action if you experience symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
