Drivers in the Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast areas should exercise extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Francisco CA.

The advisory is in effect immediately, October 8, 2026, until 10:00 AM PDT today. Visibility in the affected areas, including Monterey Bay and the Big Sur Coast, is reported to be one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

The NWS warns that low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. If you are driving, slow down, use your headlights, and ensure you leave plenty of distance between your vehicle and others. Those commuting are advised to allow extra drive time to reach their destinations safely.
