The National Weather Service (NWS) in San Francisco has announced that a Dense Fog Advisory for Northern Monterey Bay and the Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast is expiring today, October 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM PDT.

While widespread dense fog is lifting, residents should be aware that patchy dense fog may still linger in some localized areas. The NWS advises motorists encountering dense fog to slow down, use their headlights, and maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles.

This advisory was issued at 9:57 AM PDT and is effective until its expiration at 10:00 AM PDT.
