Oil Prices Surge $23/Barrel in McKenzie County

West Texas Intermediate crude averaged $91.38 per barrel in March 2026, up more than $23 from the same month last year, according to McKenzie County Economic Development's May report.
Hotel occupancy in McKenzie County climbed to 45.1% in April, compared to 37.7% a year earlier. Employment in oil extraction and transportation grew 1.3% in 2025, while other sectors added 2.8% in the same period.
