A Wind Advisory has been issued for Oglethorpe, Wilkes, Morgan, Greene, and Taliaferro Counties until 11:00 PM EDT this evening, October 10, 2026. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and exercise caution, especially those driving high-profile vehicles.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City GA issued the advisory at 12:37 PM EDT. East winds are expected to be between 10 to 20 mph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 40 mph.

These gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. The NWS warns that tree limbs may be blown down, and some power outages could occur. Drivers should anticipate difficult conditions.

To ensure safety, residents should:

  • Secure any outdoor objects that could be moved by strong winds.
  • Use extra caution when driving, particularly for high-profile vehicles.

The advisory remains in effect until 11:00 PM EDT tonight.
