Residents in Coffee, Jeff Davis, Bacon, Appling, Atkinson, Pierce, Echols, Clinch, Northern Ware, and Southern Ware counties are advised to monitor weather conditions closely as a Special Weather Statement has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Jacksonville, FL.

Strong thunderstorms are moving northeast at 35 mph, extending from near Baxley to 7 miles north of Needmore as of 2:44 PM EDT. Hazards include landspouts and wind gusts up to 40 mph, as indicated by radar. This statement is effective until 3:30 PM EDT today, October 10, 2026.

Impacts could include minor damage to outdoor objects. Gusty winds may knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Waycross, Baxley, Alma, Homerville, Graham, Argyle, Surrency, Dixie Union, Pebble Hill, and Jamestown.

The NWS advises monitoring local radio and television stations for additional information and possible warnings. This storm may intensify.
