Residents in Baker, Northern Columbia, Clinch, Southern Ware, and Western Charlton counties should seek shelter indoors immediately due to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Jacksonville FL.

As of 9:54 PM EDT on October 9, 2026, Doppler radar is tracking gusty showers that could produce a landspout and wind gusts of approximately 40 mph. The system was located 11 miles north of Taylor, or 14 miles southeast of Fargo, moving north at 20 mph. This alert is effective until 10:30 PM EDT tonight.

Potential impacts include minor damage to outdoor objects. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured items. Stephen Foster State Park is among the locations that may be impacted.

In addition to the wind threat, torrential rainfall is occurring, which may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. If you are outdoors, seek shelter inside a building. This alert is based on radar indications.
