Avery County Sheriff's App: Community Alerts & Tips

The Avery County Sheriff's Office released a video this week explaining features of its free mobile app, which residents can download from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Launched in March 2024, the Avery County Sheriff NC App lets residents submit tips, contact the Sheriff's Office, check inmate records, access school safety resources, and receive weather alerts.

Sheriff Mike Henley said the app provides a direct channel to distribute information about scams, wanted persons, and weather. "It's a way to disseminate information fairly rapidly," Henley said.
