FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 04/14/2026For further information, contact:Susan Scully PetroniCity of Framingham Public Information [email protected]  Framingham Women, Children, and Families Commission Launches Survey FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham’s Women, Children, and Families Commission (FWCFC), which seeks to improve the quality of life for women and families through advocacy, collaboration, education, and outreach, is asking for public input via a citywide survey as it sets its priorities for the coming fiscal year. The Commission, now in its fourth year, urges all residents to participate in the questionnaire to ensure that future priorities focus on those identified as most imperative by local residents.“Framingham is strongest when every voice in our community is heard. This survey is an opportunity for residents to share their experiences and help shape the future of our city. I encourage everyone, especially women and families, to take a few minutes to participate so we can continue building a more supportive, connected, and inclusive community together,” said City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky.According to census data, Framingham, which has about 72,000 residents, is approximately 50% female and is home to about 15,000 children under the age of 18. The Commission aspires to empower women and children by advocating for their needs, and by giving voice to their concerns through reports and recommendations to the Mayor. Members of the Commission regularly participate in events throughout the city and are sponsors of Framingham’s Women’s History Month event.“Women comprise a large portion of the city of Framingham’s vibrant community, as economic drivers, educators, caregivers, community leaders, agents of change, and much more. As a Commission, we feel privileged to play a role in identifying areas of concern and working with Mayor Sisitsky to address those issues in a way that makes our constituents feel heard and supported,” said Commission Chair Carolyn Assa. “We hope to get feedback from at least 500 residents through this survey which is now live.”Surveys are anonymous. All residents are encouraged to participate. You can access the survey here:https://framinghamma.gov/FormCenter/Boards-Committees-Commissions-39/Women-Children-Families-Commission-Surve-201“Everyone wants to be valued, yet too often women place the needs of others before their own, and their voices go unheard. Through this survey, we want the women of Framingham to know that we see them, we value them, and we are listening so that every woman and every family has access to the resources and support they need to thrive,” said Cynthia Blanc Preiss MacLean, Commission vice-chair, and elected Framingham Library Trustee. The deadline to complete the survey is Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.For more information on the FWCFC, visit the City’s website:https://www.framinghamma.gov/3462/Women-Children-and-Families-CommissionStay Informed Residents are urged to follow official City communication channels for updates including” • City website at www.framinghamMA.gov • City social media channels including Facebook, X, Instagram, etc • The City’s Sunday newsletter - Sign up here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/bFVxFV3 • NotifyMe alert system for text and/or email alerts - Sign up here: https://framinghamma.gov/list.aspx  ###
