Residents in Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Wallace, Logan, Gove, Greeley, and Wichita counties in Kansas, and Dundy, Hitchcock, and Red Willow counties in Nebraska are advised to drive with extreme caution due to a Dense Fog Advisory.

Issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Goodland, Kansas, the advisory is effective immediately, September 28, 2026, at 7:10 AM CDT, and will remain in effect until Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM CDT (9:00 AM MDT). The NWS warns of visibility reduced to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous.

The NWS instructs drivers to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance between vehicles. These measures are crucial for safety in affected areas across northwest and west-central Kansas and southwest Nebraska.
