Three LH Carpenter Students Win Kathy Swan Award

Three students at LH Carpenter Early Learning Center received the Kathy Swan Award at the April 20 Wabash City Schools board meeting, celebrating the 20th year of the recognition program.

Teachers selected Morrison Rutledge from 3-year-old preschool, Elliot Bidwell from 4-year-old preschool, and Harley Adkins from kindergarten. The award honors students who demonstrate kindness and sustained effort rather than academic achievement.

Staff created the Kathy Swan Award two decades ago to recognize a staff member who championed students for their character and persistence. The three winners share with classmates and bring positive energy to their classrooms without prompting.
