The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department partnered with Branstetter Carroll to develop a comprehensive Parks Master Plan that will guide the department over the next 10 years. The plan is meant to instill focus, establish priorities, and inspire action, the plan was produced with guidance from an active steering committee appointed by city officials. The plan is supported by robust data collection, including hours of in-person engagement, and provides a foundation for continuous improvement of Henderson’s parks and recreation offerings. The plan is important because it:Provides a vision for Henderson's Parks and Recreation Department for the next 10 yearsHelps define the identity of Henderson Parks and RecreationPrepares the department to align with changing community needs and recreation trendsAdvocates for the department to add the staff and make the organizational changes required to meet these needsIdentifies gaps & inequities in service and offers solutionsAvoids duplication of services available to city residentsDescribes future funding requirements and potential sourcesStrengthens fiscal responsibility, sustainability, and efficiencyThe below graphic representation of the overall findings of the 2026 Henderson Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan.
