The USPS Passport Appointment Scheduling System allows customers to schedule appointments for passport services at participating Post Office locations. Users must first complete and print their passport application form from https://pptform.state.gov before applying. The appointment scheduling process involves four main steps: Step 1: Choose a Service - Users select from the following service types: New Passport Only, New Passport with Photo Services, Passport Renewal, Digital Photo Services Only, or Hard Copy Photo Services Only. Users also specify the number of adults and minors under 16 years old (0-6 for each category). Step 2: Search by Location or Date - Customers can search for Post Office locations that provide passport services by entering a city and state or ZIP code, with radius options ranging from 1 mile to 100 miles. Only appointments at the 5 closest locations are displayed. Appointments can be searched up to 4 weeks in advance. Step 3: Select a Time - Users choose from available appointment times. Each appointment takes approximately 15 minutes per person, and customers are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment time. Appointment times displayed reflect the proper time zone of the Passport Acceptance Facility. Step 4: Provide Contact Information - Users must provide first name, last name, phone number, and email address. Identity verification is required through either text message or email to confirm the appointment. Users must agree to the Terms and Conditions. Final Step: Review and Confirm - Customers review all appointment details and USPS charges before confirmation. After confirming, users receive a final confirmation number. Passport Renewal Policy: Customers eligible for passport renewal by mail or online cannot book in-person appointments. Those not eligible must choose a "New Passport" service option to schedule an in-person appointment. Digital Photo Services: USPS offers digital photo services at many locations that comply with US Department of State regulations to reduce application rejection. Appointment Management: Users can manage scheduled appointments by entering a confirmation number and either email address or phone number. Appointments can be modified until a specified deadline, or cancelled and rescheduled as needed. Privacy Statement: Information collected is used to schedule appointments and identify fraudulent transactions. Collection is authorized by 39 U.S.C. 401, 403, and 404. Information is not disclosed to third parties without consent except as legally required or for specific routine uses including law enforcement, congressional office requests, contractor services, USPS audits, labor organizations, and government agencies.
