Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Clay, Union Counties Until 10:45 PM CDT
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for northeastern Clay County and northwestern Union County, SD, until 10:45 PM CDT tonight, October 8, with residents urged to seek shelter immediately due to half dollar size hail.
Residents in northeastern Clay County and northwestern Union County, South Dakota, must seek shelter immediately. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls and is in effect until 10:45 PM CDT tonight, October 8.
At 10:02 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles south of Centerville, moving east at 25 mph. This storm is capable of producing half dollar size hail, which is expected to cause damage to vehicles.
The severe thunderstorm is anticipated to impact Beresford around 10:15 PM CDT and Union Grove State Park around 10:25 PM CDT. Other areas impacted include Alcester. Stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing large hail.
