Residents in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties are advised to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued. The National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles/Oxnard CA has issued this warning, effective from 9:41 AM PDT today, October 7, 2026, until 8:00 PM PDT tomorrow, Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with temperatures reaching up to 99 degrees Fahrenheit. This extreme heat significantly increases the risk of heat-related illnesses.
The affected areas include: Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands; Santa Clarita Valley; Ventura County Beaches; Ventura County Inland Coast; Lake Casitas; Ojai Valley; Central Ventura County Valleys; Malibu Coast; Los Angeles County Beaches; Palos Verdes Hills; Los Angeles County Inland Coast including Downtown Los Angeles; Western Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area; Eastern Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area; Calabasas and Agoura Hills; Western San Fernando Valley; Eastern San Fernando Valley; Southeastern Ventura County Valleys; Santa Susana Mountains; and Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley.
The NWS advises all residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors during this period of extreme heat.
