The Sanibel Causeway remains closed in both directions following a crash, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said May 25.
The closure blocks all traffic to and from Sanibel Island. Authorities did not specify when they expect to reopen the bridge, citing ongoing investigation and cleanup efforts. Drivers should use alternate routes and plan for extended travel times.
The Sheriff's Office will release updates as the situation develops.
