STARS Charter School Vass Student Performances & Art
Students at STARS Charter School in Vass performed three major productions in March and displayed work at a K-8 art show titled "Art is Sweet."
First and second graders staged "The Great Ocean Rescue" at the Boyd Performing Arts Center. Other students performed "Hans Christian Andersen, Jr." Selected artwork from the school appeared in the Campbell House Youth Art Exhibit.
In classrooms, seventh and eighth graders completed a STEM Ball Run project combining engineering and design under teacher Ms. Seawell. Fifth and sixth graders created shadow puppets to perform fairytales and folktales, and explored printmaking using plastic sheets, markers, and water for mythological monster projects.
Seventh and eighth grade spring productions are scheduled for April 15 and 16 at 6 p.m. at the Boyd Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.
The school will host an end-of-year dance show June 9-11 at the Boyd Performing Arts Center. Summer theater camp presents "Alice in Wonderland" on June 25 at 6 p.m., also at the center.
