Valparaiso University Names Loren Chandler CFO
Valparaiso University President Rev. Brian Konkol announced that Loren Chandler will become vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer, effective June 22, 2026.
Chandler most recently served as chief operations and finance officer for The Catholic Health Association of the United States, where he oversaw financial and operational strategy for hundreds of hospitals and healthcare ministries. He previously held executive leadership positions at Sinai Health System in Chicago and Methodist Hospitals in Indiana, where he led financial turnarounds and modernized operations.
"Loren Chandler is an outstanding professional and remarkable person, which makes him the right person to serve our campus community during this important time in our history," Rev. Konkol said.
Chandler holds an MBA from the University of Texas Permian Basin and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, and finance from the College of Idaho. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Chandler will transition with Interim Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer MaryFrances McCourt to ensure continuity. Provost Eric Johnson chaired the search committee.
