Heritage Center Alert: Stage 2 Fire Restriction Proclamation Issued The Towns of Springerville and Eagar have issued a Stage 2 Fire Restriction Proclamation, effective Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., due to extreme fire danger and dry conditions. These restrictions are being implemented to help reduce the risk of wildfires and protect our communities, property, firefighters, and natural resources. Residents and visitors are urged to use extreme caution and comply with all fire restrictions. Even a single spark can ignite a wildfire with devastating consequences. Please do your part to help keep our communities safe. Stay informed, stay vigilant, and help prevent wildfires. The Springerville Heritage Center Located in the heart of Main Street, Springerville's historic school building holds artifacts and stories from the communities of Round Valley inside. The Casa Malpais Archeological Museum, The Renee Cushman Museum, The Becker Family History Museum and the White Mountain Historical Society Museum are all housed in one unique location. You can spend hours exploring the history of the area and admission to the museums is free! Address: 418 E Main Street, Springerville, AZ 85938 Phone: 928-333-2656 ext 230 Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm & Friday - Saturday 8:30am - 4:00pm Closed Sundays and Holidays The Renee Cushman Museum An extensive collection of art objects, some acquired on her travels and some collected with the accumulated resources of three wealthy husbands, and some willed to her by her artistic father - includes a Rembrandt engraving, pen-and-inks by Tiepolo, and an impressive collection of European antiques, some dating back to the 15th century. The Becker Family Collection Correspondence, photographs, legal documents, and financial records chiefly documenting the Becker Mercantile Company and other businesses of the Becker family as well as documents relating to the family's interests in the development of Apache County, Arizona. The White Mountain Historical Society Displays commonly used household items and tools from 1870-1940. Ten rooms are dedicated to the people and towns of the White Mountain area, with highlights including a wooden aqueduct, telephone switchboard, blacksmith shop and jail cell. More Info: whmths.org
